American Battery Technology (ABAT) shares soared nearly 18.15% in early trading on Friday after the battery materials company entered into a securities purchase agreement with a couple of institutional investors to purchase and sell 3,773,586 shares of its common stock and warrants, with a combined offering price of $2.65 per share and accompanying warrants, priced "at-the-market" under Nasdaq rules. The gross proceeds are estimated at $10 million before deducting placement agent fees and other estimated offering expenses payable by the company. The closing of the offering is expected to take place on or about December 27, 2024.

Shares of SES AI (SES) rose 73.9% in early trading Friday, extending the previous day's gains, trading in heavy trading volume on no immediate news. This marks the fifth consecutive session of gains for the company's stock. Nearly 151.5M shares changed hands on the New York Stock Exchange. SES shares have fallen 26% in value year to date, while the S&P 500 benchmark index has risen almost 28% during the same duration.
