Mid Penn Bancorp (NASDAQ:MPB) and William Penn Bancorporation (NASDAQ:WMPN) entered a plan of merger, pursuant to which William Penn will merge with and into Mid Penn in an all-stock transaction valued at ~$127M.
The merger has been approved unanimously by each company’s board of directors and is expected to close in H1 2025.
As of September 30, 2024, William Penn (WMPN) had ~$812M in total assets, $465M in total loans and $630M in total deposits.
The merger will create a powerful combined community banking franchise with ~$6.3B in total assets, $4.9B in total loans and $5.3B in total deposits, based on financial data as of September 30, 2024.
William Penn Bancorporation (WMPN) stock price scaled 17% on Friday during pre-market hours of trading.
