Remitly Global Insider年内增持17%

2024-07-03 20:55

Viewing insider transactions for Remitly Global, Inc.'s (NASDAQ:RELY ) over the last year, we see that insiders were net buyers. This means that a larger number of shares were purchased by insiders in relation to shares sold.

Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.

Remitly Global Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

The Independent Director Nigel Morris made the biggest insider purchase in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for US$4.8m worth of shares at a price of US$19.97 each. So it's clear an insider wanted to buy, even at a higher price than the current share price (being US$12.45). It's very possible they regret the purchase, but it's more likely they are bullish about the company. To us, it's very important to consider the price insiders pay for shares. As a general rule, we feel more positive about a stock when an insider has bought shares at above current prices, because that suggests they viewed the stock as good value, even at a higher price. Nigel Morris was the only individual insider to buy shares in the last twelve months.

Nigel Morris bought a total of 300.00k shares over the year at an average price of US$19.36. Does Remitly Global Boast High Insider Ownership?

Many investors like to check how much of a company is owned by insiders. I reckon it's a good sign if insiders own a significant number of shares in the company. Remitly Global insiders own 6.4% of the company, currently worth about US$148m based on the recent share price. I like to see this level of insider ownership, because it increases the chances that management are thinking about the best interests of shareholders.
