Asensus Surgical (NYSE:ASXC) is down ~8% in after-hours trading Tuesday after reporting quarterly results that missed on both the top and bottom lines.
In the Q1, the medical device robotics company saw its net loss widen ~1% to $22.5M compared to the prior-year period. However, on a non-GAAP basis, the loss improved to -$0.07 from -$0.07.
Asensus was hurt in the quarter by an ~11% year-over-year increase in total operating expenses to $22.7M.
For 2024, the company plans to initiate 8-10 new Senhance Surgical Programs and procedure volume growth of 15%-20% compared to 2023.
