沙特阿拉伯寻求锂进口以实现电动汽车野心

- Saudi Arabia is determined to import lithium amid efforts to make batteries for electric vehicles and broaden investment, Reuters reported Sunday, citing Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef.
- The Middle Eastern country seeks to diversify its economy away from oil, and has spent billions to become a center for EV manufacturing. Saudi Arabia this week is hosting a three-day special meeting of the World Economic Forum.
- "Lithium is a very important mineral that happens to be part of a very important part of the supply chain, especially for batteries," Alkhorayef said to Reuters on Sunday. "I wouldn't imagine that we would live without it."
