2024-04-27 03:07

  • Asset managers Apollo Global Management (NYSE:APO), KKR & Co. (NYSE:KKR) and Stonepeak are considering investing in a joint venture with Intel (NASDAQ:INTC) to help fund the semiconductor giant's fab in Ireland, Bloomberg reported.
  • The trio could raise several billion dollars for the upcoming plant, the news outlet reported, citing people with knowledge of the matter.
  • Santa Clara, Calif.-based Intel did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Seeking Alpha.
  • It was reported in February that Intel was looking for a partner to provide at least $2B in equity for the Ireland facility. The Pat Gelsinger-led company is working with an adviser to solicit interest in the plant.
  • Intel signed a deal with Brookfield Infrastructure Partners (BIP) (BAM) in August 2022 worth up to $30B to help pay for its factory expansion plans.
  • Intel shares fell nearly 10% on Friday amid weaker-than-expected guidance that led to much frustration amongst Wall Street firms.
