尽管价格达到2.10美元,但Standard BioTools Inders仍然销售得太早

2024-01-12 20:54

Despite the fact that Standard BioTools Inc.'s (NASDAQ:SLGC) value has dropped 14% in the last week insiders who sold US$77k worth of stock in the past 12 months have had less success. Insiders might have been better off holding onto their shares, given that the average selling price of US$2.34 is still below the current share price.

While we would never suggest that investors should base their decisions solely on what the directors of a company have been doing, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.

Standard BioTools Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

In the last twelve months, the biggest single sale by an insider was when the Interim CEO, Adam Taich, sold US$54k worth of shares at a price of US$2.56 per share. While we don't usually like to see insider selling, it's more concerning if the sales take place at a lower price. The good news is that this large sale was at well above current price of US$2.10. So it may not tell us anything about how insiders feel about the current share price.

Insider Ownership

Looking at the total insider shareholdings in a company can help to inform your view of whether they are well aligned with common shareholders. Usually, the higher the insider ownership, the more likely it is that insiders will be incentivised to build the company for the long term. Insiders own 2.7% of Standard BioTools shares, worth about US$11m. While this is a strong but not outstanding level of insider ownership, it's enough to indicate some alignment between management and smaller shareholders.
