10:58 PM EDT, 07/06/2022 (MT Newswires) -- Alibaba Group's (HKG:9988) cloud business unit set up two data centers in Saudi Arabia in June in partnership with eWTP Arabia Capital and Saudi Telecom, Yicai Global reported Wednesday.
The report came over a month after Alibaba Cloud agreed to form a cloud computing joint venture with Saudi Telecom or STC and a unit of eWTP.

At the time, STC said the joint venture, with a registered capital of 894 million Saudi riyals ($238.2 million), will address the increasing demand for public cloud services and products in Saudi Arabia.

Most recently, Yicai said the companies built two data centers in Riyadh, providing localized cloud services to local clients.

The alliance comes as Saudi Arabia's cloud market is expected to reach 25 billion yuan by 2030, Yicai said.
