09:29 AM EST, 02/03/2022 (MT Newswires) -- Shares in SOC Telemed (TLMD) soared in premarket trading Thursday after the provider of acute care telemedicine said it has agreed to be acquired by Patient Square Capital for $3.00 per share in cash..
The purchase price represents a 366% premium to SOC Telemed's closing share price Wednesday of $0.64.
Thee transaction includes a 30-day "go-shop" period, which allows SOC Telemed to solicit and weigh alternative acquisition proposals from other suitors, according to the statement.
The deal is slated to be completed in Q2.
SOC Telemed's shares climbed by 337% in premarket trading.
